IRC represents a research network of more than 80 basic science as well as clinical research laboratories from the Medical University of Vienna.
The overall aim of IRC is to provide a stimulating and excellent research environment to facilitate world-class basic, translational and clinical research in the field of Immunology with a special focus on allergy, inflammation and infection research. IRC activities are coordinated by the IRC coordination team with support from the IRC steering board and an external advisory board.
Through our coordinated efforts we aim:
- to strengthen the research environment and research support in the field of Immunology
- to increase the scientific output by utilizing synergies between scientists and to foster translational approaches
- to raise the attractiveness of the Medical University of Vienna for young scientists in the field of Immunology by implementing special research & training possibilities and career opportunities;
- to create a “community spirit” due to networking of participating scientists (and networking with other research institutions in Vienna)
- to enhance the visibility of the research field inside and outside the Medical University of Vienna
