Almost 200 colleagues joined the Retreat of the IRC which took place on June 26, 2026 in Parkhotel Schönbrunn.
The Austrian Society of Allergology and Immunology awarded the Karl Landsteiner Medal to Prof. Mübeccel Akdis and the Clemens von Pirquet Medal to Prof. Cezmi Akdis from the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research. Prof. Maria Rescigno was appointed adjunct Professor in the Center of Pathophysiology, Infectiology and Immunology by the Vice-rector of Research of the Medical University of Vienna, Dr. Michaela Fritz. In total, 10 early career scientists of the Medical University received presentation awards for their outstanding contributions.
Prof. Rudolf Valenta handed over the leadership of the IRC to Prof. Andreas Bergthaler from the Center of Pathophysiology, Infectiology and Immunology.
